Dr. Andy Friedley grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan and spent summers in northern Wisconsin. He earned his PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree from Ferris State University in 2005. Following graduation, he moved to Wisconsin and spent five years working as a Pharmacist in the Milwaukee area.
Andy has been the Managing Pharmacist at Peter Christensen Health Center since moving back to the north woods in 2010. Andy has a special interest in treatment of diabetes. During his time away from work, Andy enjoys spending time with his family and spending time outdoors. His three kids keep him busy with their athletics. Andy is an avid fisherman and hunter and also enjoys boating, biking, and skiing.
Nick grew up in central Wisconsin and is a LDF descendant. He went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in 2016. He also holds board certifications in ambulatory care pharmacy and advanced diabetes management.
Nick has been practicing at PCHC since 2016. He enjoys helping motivated patients understand how appropriate pharmacotherapy can help manage their short-term or chronic conditions. Outside of work he enjoys golf, cross country skiing and fitness.
Dr. Zakkary Scharp was born and raised in northern Wisconsin. He earned his PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree from Concordia University of Wisconsin – School of Pharmacy in 2017. Following graduation, he moved back to northern Wisconsin and worked as a pharmacist for a small retail pharmacy chain for 3 years.
Zakkary has been a clinical pharmacist at Peter Christensen Health Center since 2020. Zakkary is also a board certified – advanced diabetes manager and earned this credentialling in 2023. He has an interest in treatment of diabetes, asthma, and COPD. During his free time, Zakkary enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors, reading, and music. He enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, biking, and kayaking.
Nancy received her pharmacy degree from The Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University. She has worked in a variety of pharmacy settings including retail, inpatient hospital, medical oncology, home health, and ambulatory anticoagulation clinic. Nancy and her family moved to the Northwoods in 2017 and has been with PCHC as a part-time/call-in Pharmacist since 2019. She enjoys baking, kayaking, and downhill skiing in her free time.
Brian graduated from North Dakota State University School of Pharmacy in 1985. After graduating he accepted a commission with the United States Public Health Service, Indian Health Service. His first duty station was Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge South Dakota. In 1998 he transferred to Onamia, Minnesota, where he was the Assistant Director and Chief Pharmacist at the Ne-Ia-Shing Tribal Clinic. In 1990 he transferred to Peter Christensen Health Center (PCHC) in Lac du Flambeau where he was the Chief Pharmacist until 2010.
After leaving PCHC, he decided to change career paths and accepted a position as the Chief Pharmacist at Doctors Foster and Smith Pharmacy (DFS), a mail-order veterinary pharmacy. DFS pharmacy was later sold to Petco and then closed in 2019 at which time Brian retired as a full-time pharmacist.
Brian wasn't ready to fully retire and had always enjoyed working in a Tribal healthcare setting. In 2019 he became a relief pharmacist at the Lac Vieux Desert Tribal pharmacy and in 2020 re-joined the team at PCHC as a relief pharmacist.
